Lala Kent shared a moment with People for an all-access interview that detailed her difficult journey to sobriety—and how her fiancé, Randall Emmett, helped her along the way.
Kent, who has had alcohol problems in the past, noted that she was fifty days sober during the time of her interview.

Her impressive record is one she says she achieved through the support she got from her fiancé.
“My fiancé always says I have this sixth sense where I know when things have gotten to a point where they need to change, so I can’t really pinpoint one incident,” she said in an interview with Cosmopolitan magazine.
Fortunately, Kent has once again found happiness after turning to alcohol in the wake of the death of her father.
“I am actually, for real now, completely sober. I’ve never been happier. So I know it’s something I’ll have to deal with on a day-to-day basis, but it’s the right decision for me,” she revealed to Cosmopolitan.
It’s a nice change of pace for Kent, whose struggles since the death of her father last year have been well documented.
“Drinking for me was medication instead of celebration. Instead of going and talking to somebody about losing someone extremely important to you, we turn to things to medicate,” she noted to Cosmopolitan before urging others in her situation to do better.
“I just want to make sure that I put my voice out there to say, reach out to someone, reach out to a grief counselor, partner with someone who can make you feel like you’re not by yourself and going completely insane.”
For now, we congratulate Kent for her impressive work on staying sober!
